Today I want to talk a little about how a personal trainer app can be beneficial when counties have implemented stay-at-home orders due to the Coronavirus. Here in Pinellas County, we have a “safer-at-home” order which may soon become a “stay-at-home” order. What does that mean for you when it comes to staying in shape? Well, it means that you can go outside for fresh air and for a walk – so long as you remain socially isolated. It also means that your physical fitness routine is going to be limited. Fortunately, there are a number of great personal trainer apps out there that can broaden your horizons.

Personal Trainer App: Staying Fit During the Time of Coronavirus

So, if you plan on downloading a personal trainer app to help you to stay in shape while you are homebound, what should you look for in a good app?

No Commitment

By far the best way to get the most out of working with a personal trainer is to meet up with them in person. This doesn’t just get you out of the house, but it’s a great way to get encouragement and motivation. In-person training also allows your trainer to customize your routine for you and you alone, taking into consideration your unique needs. Lastly, in-person training allows for your trainer to make corrections to your form if you aren’t performing an exercise in the proper way – this lets you avoid injury! So, you’re going to want to return to in-person training as soon as possible. While you are confined to your home, though, a personal training app can help you to stay in shape so long as you only work within your physical limitations. Investing in an app that doesn’t require you to sign up for a committed time period will allow you to go back to your in-person training as soon as you can without losing any money!

Free or Paid

There are both free personal training apps and paid personal training apps and just because an app is paid does not mean that it’s better than one that is free. Although you should make sure to stay within your budget, you should pay more attention to how well the app fits with your level of fitness and physical capability and pay less attention to whether an app is paid or free.

One of the best parts of in-person training is that you have a great source of motivation. When choosing a training app, it’s just as important that you choose an app that keeps you interested and motivated.
