Today I want to talk to you a little bit about personal trainer requirements and what you should be looking for when it comes to hiring someone to help you to transform your life.

Personal Trainer Requirements: What Should You Look For?

I’ve talked before about what red flags you should pay attention to when it comes to finding a reputable personal trainer. Today I want to talk about something related but a little different. I want to talk about what requirements you should look for in that personal trainer – how you can get the best trainer for your health and fitness needs.

Training

Contrary to what some people may believe, not just anyone can set up shop as a personal trainer…at least not if they are offering legitimate advice and if they take your wellness seriously. In order to be a good personal fitness trainer, your trainer must have gone through a formal training program. There are multiple programs that a fitness trainer can go through, but it’s crucial that they go through a professional and recognized program before setting up a practice. Why? Because the human body is a complex thing and it requires complete balance in order for you to be healthy. If your trainer does not have the knowledge required to create and maintain this balance, they put you at risk for injury as well as risking your longterm health and wellness!

Personally, I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, Raw, Vegan, Macrobiotics and everything in between!

A Close Relationship With Medical Personnel

A major part of my approach to wellness is taking a holistic approach. This means that I don’t just help you to focus on what you eat and how you exercise, I focus on full body and mind health. I do this because when it comes to your body and mind, everything needs to be working together in order to achieve harmony. For example, you may want desperately to get into shape, but if you are chronically depressed or in pain, that desire isn’t going to do you much good at all!

I know that many people out there suffer from concerns that impact their health and ability to get into shape and I’ll happily admit that many of these concerns are out of my realm as a fitness trainer. That’s why it’s so important to work with and consult medical professionals who can help me to help you so that we can develop a plan of approach that is catered to your needs!
